Halal Food Options at Reviving the Islamic Spirit Conference 2015
If you had a chance to visit this conference and know what it’s about, you’ll know that there was some controversy around food options last year. Thankfully, Reviving the Islamic Spirit Conference 2015 has made some major changes in terms of food. After a lot of negotiations with the venue, RIS was able to bring back their own food program, allowing them to source their own vendors.
We connected with Reviving the Islamic Spirit Conference 2015 Organizers and are happy to give you a preview on what you can expect.
First off, they’ve gone the extra step to verify meat sources. One word of caution: their food court advertising says 100% halal hand slaughtered meat, however there will be a few exceptions to this — however RIS organizers tell us that there will be signs letting people know meat sources of vendors that are selling machine slaughtered meat. Please be cautious and ask all vendors for verification. As an event organizer myself, I can tell you first hand that vendors change things last-minute without giving notice all the time and it’s hard to keep up in the very last moments.
Aside from taking extra caution with vendors in terms of meat sources, they’ve also placed an emphasis on quality foods at reasonable prices. I’m looking forward to enjoying my 3 days at Reviving the Islamic Spirit Conference 2015!
Please also note, that places listed here have been cleared for their meat source at Reviving the Islamic Spirit Conference 2015 ONLY and does not mean that they serve the same at their own establishments. Please always check meat sources directly with the establishment when eating out.
