After a successful catering run, the owner of Northern Smokes decided it was time to get a permanent home for his passion, BBQ! If you feel like Southern style BBQ, where everything is slow-cooked and smoked to perfection — this is your spot.
The interior space at Northern Smokes is clean, but small. There are 3-4 booths inside which would comfortably seat a group of four adults. The outside patio has more seating. The owner recommends you call ahead of time to pre-order to guarantee your food. Since everything is slow-cooked, once they’re out — they’re out.
We were given a sample tray with a little bit of their best stuff: jerk chicken, beef back ribs, brisket, mac and cheese, coleslaw, BBQ sauce, gravy and beans.
I’ll definitely be back to Northern Smokes — can’t wait for the summer months with some proper Texas BBQ in the North!
